Outdoor Structures FAQ

Common questions about outdoor structures in Park City.

We build concrete patios, masonry retaining walls, seat walls, outdoor steps, and decorative block features for Tooele County homeowners. Each project is sized and designed to fit your specific yard and how you plan to use the space.

Yes, concrete built with the right mix and proper base preparation handles Tooele County's freeze-thaw cycles and summer heat well. We prepare the sub-base and account for drainage before pouring so the surface stays level and intact season after season.

A retaining wall is often the right solution for sloped yards in Tooele County because it stabilizes soil and creates flat, usable outdoor space. Without support, sloped ground can erode and push water toward your home's foundation.

We assess drainage, soil composition, and frost depth before starting any outdoor structure in Tooele County. The area's alkaline, coarse-loamy soils require a well-prepared base to prevent settling and cracking after construction.

Yes, we select block, stone, and concrete finishes that complement your home's current exterior in Tooele County. A cohesive look between new outdoor structures and your existing home adds visual appeal and property value.

Concrete and masonry patios require less ongoing maintenance than wood decks in Tooele County's dry, high-desert climate. They do not warp, rot, or need annual sealing the way treated lumber does.

Larry and his team were amazing to work with. Very communicative and even started sooner than we expected which was awesome because I have a wedding coming up and I needed the RV pad done before that.

I couldn’t be happier with the work from this concrete company. From start to finish, they were professional, reliable, and clearly take pride in what they do. The quality of the work is outstanding—everything was done with precision and attention to detail, and the finished product looks amazing. They showed up on time, communicated clearly throughout the process, and kept the job site clean and organized. It’s rare to find a crew that delivers exactly what they promise, but these guys exceeded expectations. If you’re looking for top-notch concrete work done right the first time, I highly recommend them!

Larry & crew were professional hard working and completed the driveway, sidewalk and porch job ahead of time. New concrete driveway, sidewalk and porch all look great! B & A Pics!

I needed an emergency driveway replacement due to an HOA compliance complaint that was blocking the closing of my property!! Larry came to the rescue! I called him on Monday, he showed up that afternoon and gave me the estimate. Larry and his crew started the work the very next day on Tuesday and completed it on Wednesday. Larry and his crew are very professional, they know what they are doing and they got the work done fast. I'm incredibly grateful!

I was fortunate enough that when I needed a driveway, RV pad, and new front steps, that my neighbor had just had their driveway done earlier in the year by someone that they would recommend. That someone was Larry (Art of Concrete). Getting contractors that are available and timely can be laughably hard. In my case, Larry came out to quote me in a day, committed to a really good price for the work, scheduled the work quickly (within 3 days) and then showed up on time to get the job done. Larry's crew was good to work with, they were responsive and did quality work. Larry himself is a really good guy, who helped us along the way when we had change orders or couldn't figure out exactly what we wanted to do (i.e. we ended up having him pour a really cool plantar box). In all we had an RV pad poured, a retaining wall next to RV pad, a new driveway, front steps and stoop, and new sidewalk sections. This was all for a raised ranch up in the benches which had a fairly steep grade for the driveway. Larry did right by us for a fair price. I would strongly recommend Art of Concrete, they finished the job right and communicated well the whole way.
